Ensembles of Clio High School

 

Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is the premier concert ensemble at Clio High School. The members of this ensemble strive to create on a higher level of musicianship and technicality, performing some of the best literature available to wind bands today. The Wind Ensemble regularly receives Superior ratings at festival, earning strong accolades for their achievements.

Symphony Band

The Symphony Band is Clio’s second ensemble. This group also regularly receives high ratings at MSBOA Band Festival, and many of the members of the Symphony Band also partake in the Marching Band and Jazz Ensembles. The group also performs many quality pieces of literature for the band medium.

Mustang Marching Band

The Mustang Marching Band is a staple in the Clio community. The MMB is the most visible ensemble of the Clio Area Band Program. The Mustang Marching Band begins the season in early June, rehearsing through their band camp each summer . The MMB competes in MCBA, and has had consecutive State Championship appearances in 2017, 2018, and 2019, with a 3rd place finish in 2018.

Jazz Band

The Jazz Band at Clio is an extra curricular ensemble available to all CHS Band students. Members of the Jazz ensemble receive instruction in the fundamentals of jazz performance and style. The Jazz band meets 1-2 days a week after the conclusion of the MMB season. The Jazz Band performs at many events in the Clio school district, as well as their Annual Dinner Fundraiser

Pep Band

The Pep Band at Clio is an extra-curricular ensemble available to all CHS Band Students. Members of the Pep Band have two rehearsals on approximately 50 popular music tunes, and stand cheers. The students perform at nearly all Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball games, and have many traditions to cheers our fellow mustangs to a victory!
